California, one of the largest economies in the world is unable to educate its children, balance its budget, and encourage growth in business.
So many dollars go towards social programs which are great if they can be paid for, are killing this state. Programs have been put in place which no one is willing to cut, while prisons and related services take unconscionable per capita dollars - prison dentists which make over $1M a year. Our per capita spending is among the lowest in the nation, if not now the lowest. Finally the state is hiring more people, than any other employer, while the budget is shrinking.
I think we need to fire Everyone in Sacramento, cut non-essential spending to the bone - maintaining emergency services, education, parks (needed to promote outdoors, family time, and health.) Strip out unnecessary bureaucracy (even though bureaucrats think it's all essential, I'm sure there's plenty of fat. Maybe it's a dependency thing and the state needs to go on a 12 step program.
